Here is where we make with the talking about this project. Anything relating to the project that isn't specific to a topic (such as I wanna talk about Riven Hourglass) goes here. Otherwise, if it's a general idea it should come up here.

Randy:
Do you want to split the elemental flux disciplines? I've always had a thing for water-based characters, so those abilities are really easy for me to envision, and I can take one other (which ever, I don't care). Chris said they were kinda your brainchild in the other post so I want to be sure I'm not stepping on your toes by claiming a couple.
Are people laying claims to disciplines? If so, I'd like to know. I'm laying claim to Iron Tortoise and Devil Tiger. I have definite ideas as to how these work, I know what I'm doing with those. I am leaving the elemental disciplines alone. I want diet-Benders. That's what I want. As far as other disciplines, I think Randy and I are going to have to make peace and put Jade Prince together. Try not to lay claim to more than 2 at a time, for sanity's sake.
I also need two more disciplines. I want one new one for Blade Mystic; I really just want something else that's mildly supernatural be it mildly arcane or psionic in nature, or lord knows what else. I also want another discipline for Stalkers; I think some kind of personal fighting style that is based on ninjitsu or perhaps something based on some other real world martial art. I dunno, come up with something. I came up with 17 other ones!

I was considering a Flash Cry / Shunko like discipline to go for Blade Mystic. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Bleach, Shunko is compressed kido (magic, effectively) around the body that is used to deflect attacks and deliver powerful strikes. It's an idea.

Additionally... another discipline idea for Blade Mystic would be something like Invisible Hand. Could take some of the the above post with deflecting and all from Flash Cry, and add in telekinetic abilities? A psychic discipline. Could do it for either Blade Mystic or for Stalker, really, but I may need to rename Stalker if I start adding stuff like this in!

I don't know anything about Shunko, but a psychic discipline sounds pretty damn cool. It's outside the box, I support this idea.
I think Charlie is working on a kick boxing discipline right now based on Muay Thai for Stalkers and Warlords.
I call dibs on ele-fire and golden lion. I'll post updated The Riven Hourglass shortly.
Very cool. I like the idea of the Muay Thai based dicipline. And thanks for the response Randy, I really want the Water discipline. I think I can do good things with it.
Someday I will hopefully have the time to finish Iron Tortoise... I am actually working on it! Really!
Then... Devil Tiger. Grrrr :P

Lordy I feel like I'm talking to myself sometimes here.
Okay, so Cole likes a psychic discipline. Aethernox asked me if I'd put in more psionics support. If this is the case, I obviously see a prestige class existing from this, but would a base class be out of sorts as well? A battle psychic or whatever, perhaps steal some of the good (what little there is) from soulknife and make a ToB psychic warrior using maneuvers from this psychic discipline (Invisible Hand), plus maybe Crescent Moon, Devil Tiger, Riven Hourglass, and either Thrashing Dragon or the Muay Thai/Arnis based discipline that Charlie is working on next?
Anybody have thoughts on this? Please, I hate talking to myself.

You only hate talking to yourself because it proves you're actually insane.
I think it's possible, and the more open we are to the different aspects of the game as a whole, the better, I think. See, when I make a character, I don't think as much about the numbers, I think about what would make that character cool to play. Cecil was altruistic but conflicted, Jellid was mildly unscrupulous and power-hungry but he knew right from wrong. A character's background is more important to me than the numbers on the sheet. So, I support any variety of possible backgrounds and origins. It makes it easier to make memorable characters.
In essence, I support having a base psychic class. I think a PrC just doesn't quite fit - it would feel like an afterthought. If we're going to incorporate psionics, they deserve full attention.
Both would be ideal, otherwise it would just be a base class with an exclusive discipline (i.e. Crusader). The class would have a reduced amount of power points, or require the maneuvers to have costs. It's a bold endeavor, but if it's going to happen, go big or go home. I think both a base class and PrC would work, just not solely a PrC.
I see a potential problem here though. By their very nature manuevers don't cost anything, but instead serve to fill a gap where pure melée classes fall behind.
I still stand by my belief that spellcasting-manuever-users are damn rediculous and any mixture if the two requuires careful balancing. Psionics is no exception.
As for single class only disciplines, blade mystic will have 3, and the rest will have one at present.
Blade Mystic will have 4, actually, all 4 elementals. The others will only have one specific one for two of them (Steel Serpent for Stalkers and Jade Prince for Warlords) and three specific for Knights (Iron Tortoise and they have the ability to have Silver Crane or Black Heron). This proposed psionic discipline, Invisible Hand, would not cost power points per se, but some mechanics would be improved by expenditure of power points or psionic focus. Kind of like putting your all into the effort, for example. What do you think?

While the proposition is interesting, and mechanically elegant, my impulse is to avoid a proper psi-gish. The farthest I'd go would be to give it a stacking ML|IL mechanic akin to war-marked or monk's so that you could class around more comfortable. Another option is to offer a class that mixes a limited selection of Marks with psionics.
Though, if you were to offer a limited power list, and make it a list caster from a small per encounter pool.....

i am completely against giving a melee class any types of psi power. as jimmy stated it is used to fill the gap melee player have compared to arcane and psi. if it is a prestige class ok its a choice to go that route, but if it is a base class why play anything else. getting both is in my opinion is a bad idea, it goes in a different path then all the rest of the book.
just say i think it will be bad
Actually, what he was saying was that maneuvers exist to fill the gap between fighters and spellcasters, not psionic powers. If we do allow for manifestation, then we will be very careful with it. Again, Invisible Hand needs to be written before we can even project thoughts beyond this. This is all still very rough and theoretical now.
